The JLS-73 was developed in 1998 at the request of a client who needed a fully automated rewinding process to reduce his production expenses and maintain his position in his market. The machine exceeded all expectations, and since then, 30 other companies have installed JLS machines. In the past, typical applications for the machine included plotter, counter, engineering, ink jet and masking rolls.

A slightly modified version is now being introduced to converters of various films. The results have been impressive. In recent testing, the new machine consistently and automatically produced 500-foot rolls of film in 42 seconds. This production rate is four times faster than the converter's existing method.

The machine is CE certified and is supplied with a state-of-the-art computer touch screen operator interface giving the operator access to production recipes and more than a dozen individual videos that provide detailed maintenance and set-up information on the entire machine. A modem for online technical support is also included.

Jennerjahn Machine exhibited their JLS-73 slitter/rewinder and shaftless unwind stand with its innovative dual web option at CMM. The machine allows converters to double their production by utilising the machine's entire width when running narrow or off-cut mill rolls.
