DuPont Cyrel and DuPont Tyvek work together to produce guidelines


DuPont Cyrel and DuPont Tyvek Medical Packaging, formed a strategic team of specialists to focus on developing best practice guidelines for printing DuPont Tyvek tags and labels with DuPont Cyrel photopolymeric fl exo plates.

The team members, Gerald Rettberg of DuPont Cyrel Packaging Graphics, Henri Decker of DuPont Tyvek Envelopes, Graphics, Consumer Packaging, and Henri Morette of DuPont Tyvek, Medical & Industrial Packaging are planning to issue their recommendations to the printers and converters by the end of September 2004, in the form of a handbook.

Key learning and results of all print trials performed at Gallus in Switzerland and at the DFTA in Germany (www.dfta.de) will be summarised in the handbook, which will be available to DuPont customers. All print trials have been performed on four different variation of DuPont Tyvek material using UV inks, wate-based inks and solvent-based inks printed with both conventional DuPont Cyrel digital plates DPN the new DuPont Cyrel Fast DFH.

Tyvek brand protective material is recommended for food contact, medical applications and special grades dedicated to graphics applications. “There continues to be tremendous innovation in fl exo printing and there is a need in the industry to create excellent tags, labels and protective packages,” said Matthias Heinzel, sales and marketing director, DuPont Packaging Graphics Europe/MEA.
