The partnership between Teich, one of the leading European converters and part of the Constantia group, and the Italian manufacturer Uteco Converting is stronger than ever.

Following installations in Austria of the Emerald SI gearless fl exographic printing presses with quick change featuring an in-line UV curing system for the print and a gravure in-line unit for special lacquering and coating, a further press has been ordered by Teich.

This time the machine is a central impression fl exo press, also from the Emerald family.

This press features eight printing decks with the dual slide system (ball screws and prismatic type) which is a Uteco patent both in Europe as well as in the US. It is a quick change press, with sleeves on the plate as well as on the anilox rollers. It’s also a gearless press, featuring the patented Uteco direct drive system between the main motor and the CI drum, the technical solution chosen by Uteco from the beginning of its gearless project. UV lamps from Noelle are installed between the eight decks, while fea lamps are also installed at the chill rollers after the eight-colour CI printing group.

The line is complete, like the ones installed in the Teich plant at M¸hlhofen, with a rotogravure unit, inline with the UV fl exo print, and a large 9m dual dryer which allows special lacquering and coating to be performed at high speed. This machine will be installed in the plant of Teich in Poland and will print on Al foil as well as fi lms and laminates. Thanks to this partnership with Teich, the experience of Uteco on UV fl exographic printing presses is increasing. It gives Uteco, as a manufacturer of wide web fl exo presses, leadership in this sector with the highest number of UV fl exo presses for fl exible packaging installed worldwide.
